There are two main configurations for the way drum kits are set up, based on the size of the drums and cymbals themselves and the sound they make when hit. These two configurations are rock and fusion.
With the rock drum kit configuration, the bass drum is usually the biggest piece, with a diameter of 22 inches. The floor tom will usually be the next largest at 16 inches in diameter.
The rack-mounted tom drums will probably be slightly different in size, with one drum measuring 12 inches and the other 13 inches. A normal snare drum, meanwhile, is around 14 inches.
Fusion drum kits do not typically feature a floor tom, which is the main way to distinguish them from a rock kit. Instead, fusion drum kits tend to have three rack tom drums that are 10, 12 and 14 inches in diameter respectively. The bass drum is also sometimes smaller than on a rock kit – usually about 20 inches in diameter.
We also sell a range of kids drum kits, which are perfect for getting children started in drumming. These feature a smaller structure to accommodate younger players, and will typically consist of a 16-inch bass drum, a 12-inch snare drum, a 13-inch floor tom and two 10 and 11 inch rack tom drums.
Whatever your style and ability, here at muscicandgoodshit.com you will find the perfect drum kit.
