Robert Johnson Song Inducted Into Grammy Hall Of Fame
It seems the Robert Johnson tune, “Sweet Home Chicago” is going to be inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014.
Part of the now legendary recording sessions that were held in San Antonio, Texas in 1936.
The tune was released originally in 1937, and remains a staple classic blues tune even today, and in my opinion it’s probably the song that precursors the rock n roll feel that came later in the 50’s, more than any other tune of the Delta blues era.
Johnson has previously had one other tune inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame back in 1998, which was “Crossroad Blues”, later to made famous by Cream.
